A New Chapter for Golf at Heritage Eagle Bend
Modernizing the Course. Preserving the Character. Improving the Experience.
FALL 2026
This fall, Heritage Eagle Bend Golf Club is investing in the future of golf with a comprehensive golf course improvement project designed to enhance playability, modernize aging infrastructure, improve water efficiency and preserve the character of our Arthur Hills-designed course.
This project is about more than making changes to the golf course. It is about making sure Heritage Eagle Bend continues to provide an enjoyable, beautiful and first-class golf experience for years to come.
Built for the Future of Golf
Heritage Eagle Bend’s golf course opened in 2000. As the course and its infrastructure have matured, the time has come to make important improvements to several key components of the golf course.
The result is a plan focused on three major priorities:
- A modern irrigation system designed to improve water efficiency
- Repairs and improvements to aging tees and bunkers
- A golf experience designed around the needs of our golfers while preserving the character of the course
A More Playable Course for More Golfers
One of the most exciting aspects of the project is the addition of new forward tee opportunities.
The new tee strategy is designed to better match tee distances with golfers’ driving distances and swing speeds. The proposed forward/Silver tees are approximately 4,100 yards, compared with the existing 4,930-yard forward-tee configuration.
That means golfers who benefit from shorter yardages can play holes from distances that better fit their game – creating more opportunities to reach greens with appropriate approach shots, make pars and birdies, and simply enjoy the game more.
The goal isn’t to make Heritage Eagle Bend more difficult. It’s to create a more balanced and enjoyable experience for golfers of different abilities.
Smarter Bunkers. Better Playability.
Bunkers are an important part of the character and strategy of Heritage Eagle Bend, and the project addresses both their appearance and their infrastructure.
All bunkers will be improved, using the Better Billy Bunker system. Some bunkers that are out of play or create unnecessary difficulty are planned for removal, while strategically positioned or reshaped bunkers can add interest and risk-and-reward opportunities.
The objective is a better balance between challenge, strategy, aesthetics and playability – while respecting the original character of the course.
Water Conservation & Sustainable Maintenance
A major focus of the project is responsible water use. Utilizing the state of the art heads and water pumping technolgies
The result is a course that can continue to look great while being more mindful of one of Colorado’s most important resources.
More Options Around the Course
Rather than simply making the course easier, these changes are intended to give golfers more ways to play a hole.
It’s about creating a course that rewards good decisions and remains enjoyable for golfers of varying skill levels.
Improvements Beyond the Course
The project also includes improvements to the practice area, including a new practice bunker designed to provide opportunities to work on bunker shots. The driving-range tee is also planned for leveling and realignment.
Investing in Golf. Investing in the Future.
Every improvement has the same underlying goal: to make Heritage Eagle Bend Golf Club a better golf course for today’s golfers while preparing it for tomorrow.
The project combines modern infrastructure, improved water efficiency, updated tees, refreshed bunkers and enhanced playing strategies—all while respecting the character and identity that make Heritage Eagle Bend Golf Club special.
We’re excited about the future of golf at Heritage Eagle Bend Golf Club.
The course you know is evolving. The golf you love is here to stay.
