July 26th Quilt of Valor Presentation
We had another great day to celebrate our HEB Veterans. It was even more special because we got to honor three nurses from the CAL class given in the early spring of this year, “Military Nurses”. I took that class and learned so much from these wonderful ladies. We had a couple that declined but I hope with time they will change their minds.
Our next presentation will be on October 25th at 2:00 in the Humboldt room. Jan and I have decided to open up the presentation to the community. If you haven’t seen a Quilts of Valor presentation, I encourage you to come and cheer on our HEB veterans.
If you or anyone would like to receive a QOV quilt please contact, Vickie Pervich at mpervich@gmail.com. The only requirements are you to be a living service member at present or a living veteran who has been touched by war. It doesn’t matter if you were in combat or at a desk, you raised your hand to protect and serve our country. Also be patient once I receive your request, we will get a quilt to you as soon as possible for the next presentation. Also, if you are from the Korean War or WWII, we want you to be placed ahead of the line.
Vickie Pervich, HEB Coordinator for QOV
Jan Weber, Chairperson for QOV, Smoky Hill Quilt Club
