Tennis Mixer
Saturday September 9.   Special event. 10:00AM to NOON –Open tennis with men’s doubles, women’s doubles and mixed doubles. We invite club members, spouses, significant others and anyone else in the community to join us afterwards at the Eagle’s Nest for snacks or lunch.
Tennis Trivia
John McEnroe, now a color commentator, was the bad boy of tennis. His vindictive language, complaining (“You can’t be serious”) and racket- breaking antics didn’t go unrewarded.
For instance, despite winning Wimbledon for the first time in 1981, he was not offered membership in the All-England Club which is given to all first-time victors. And he was tossed out of the Australian Open in 1990 for the same offenses. There is indeed some justice.
Tennis Mixer with Heather Gardens
The Tennis Club from Heather Gardens invited HEBGC Tennis Club over to their facility for men’s doubles, women’s doubles and mixed doubles. It was followed by beverages and a lavish spread of good food. We will reciprocate by inviting them here.
Ball Machine
If you’d like to use our ball machine on Court 2, call Bill Brown at 303-688-4888; and he will help you through the steps to get you up and running.

The HEB Firearms Safety Committee has scheduled a discussion with Arapahoe County Sheriff David Walcher and a senior member of the Aurora Police Department at our monthly meeting in October.  The date of the meeting is Saturday 10/07/2017 at 9:00AM in the Humboldt Room at the clubhouse.
The sheriff and the Aurora police Department will discuss subjects that affect all residents of HEB and the entire Aurora community.
Topics of discussion that have been suggested are:

  • Homicides have increased by about 9.9% in Colorado.  Is this an alarming situation for law enforcement?
  • What is the illegal immigration situation in Arapahoe County and the city of Aurora? — The sanctuary city status and cooperation with ICE.
  • Marijuana has captured widespread attention.  What are the real issues in the city, county, state and nationally?
  • What are the pertinent facts about gun violence in our communities?
  • What are the pertinent facts about gang violence in our communities?
  • What is the City/County’s position on gun safety, emergency usage and concealed weapons issues?

The meeting has been scheduled by and for the members of HEB’s Firearms Safety Committee but we would like to extend an invitation to all other HEB residents if you are interested in hearing a discussion with law enforcement officers on these important issues.
If you are interested in attending this discussion, please RSVP to Vern Kenley at 303.694.9546

Blood Drive
 Blood Drive
Way to go HEBGC Community blood donors!  At our August 25 blood drive, you donated a total of 76 units of whole blood including double red blood cells:-)  We broke our previous record of 73 units set back on January 31, 2014.  Our urgent pleas did not fall on deaf ears, so thank you for your great response!
Our 5th drive for 2017 is 7 weeks away (October 27) and so far we are off to a very good start with 68 sign-ups!  The sign-up sheets are at the Welcome Desk.  For an appointment, please call the Welcome Desk staff (303-693-7788) or Clint Smythe (303-501-7444), or after October 1, June Goddard (303-549-9739).  We always welcome walk-in donors!  With the help of donors from our surrounding neighborhoods, including our walk-in donors, Bonfils is especially appreciative because of the shortage in the nation's blood supply due in part to the devastating affects of hurricanes Harvey and potentially Irma and Jose.
There will be a drawing for another lucky donor who will receive a certificate for dinner-for-two at the Eagles Nest!  Many thanks from Bonfils and us for your most generous Gifts of Life!

Traditions Annual / Budget Meeting will be held on Tuesday, October 17, 2017 beginning at 5:30 PM in the Antero Room.  Please arrive early to sign in.

Village Budget Meeting will be held on Monday, October 23, 2017, beginning at 5:30 PM in the Humboldt Room.  Please arrive early to sign in.  Light refreshments will be served.

Please remember that we have rules for signs in the community.   Please contact Wendy Stofa, Community Manager, if you have questions at 720-235-1831.
Real Estate signs need to be the small metal type sign and they need to be placed parallel to the home and up towards the home.
We do not allow contractor signs or signs promoting outside events.
We have seen signs around the community for “charitable” walks etc. and these signs are not allowed.
Thank you for following the rules of the community to make HEBGC the beautiful place it is.

Reminder to put all pool toys away after use.  Items such as noodles, weights, kick-boards etc.
Please do not leave them in the pool or on pool deck.  Thank you!

Time to Make Your Yard Look Great!
Be sure to mow, water, weed, replace dead trees etc.!
Thank you for keeping HEBGC beautiful!

Please don't leave doggie waste bags around the community!  Thank You!

Only those with proper Driver’s Licenses can drive a golf cart in HEBGC.  Letting your grandchild drive may seem like a fun thing but it is dangerous to them and to our other residents.
We get calls from residents who see this occurring.  Please be safe!

Also, parking your golf cart by the fire pit and pool gate entrance is not allowed

Thank you!

Remember the rules!  48 hours in front of your home maximum.  48 hours in the RV area of the Clubhouse Parking Lot with a Permit from the Welcome Desk or Admin Office.  This is for a maximum of four days total (can’t be moved back and forth after this).  Keep in mind that our streets are tight and homes fairly close together so please be considerate of your neighbors.  This time allowed is a convenience for our Residents, not for storage.  Thank you.
