Assistant Superintendent

Overview
Responsible for carrying out  the directions from the Golf Course Superintendent for ensuring the overall quality and playability of the golf course(s), assuring that it is maintained within budgetary guidelines and promotes the OB Sports philosophy of excellence.  Must be highly motivated to move into a lead position within 12 months.

General Description of Duties and Responsibilities
  • Responsible for directly supervising the daily maintenance operations, personally ensuring that the golf course is presented in the finest condition possible. 
  • Perform the basic duties of the Golf Course Superintendent in his absence.
  • Responsible for performing a daily inspection tour of the golf course and Clubhouse grounds. 
  • Responsible for the supervision of all maintenance personnel, including preparation of weekly work schedules and communication of daily assignments.
  • Maintain up-to-date, accurate records of all fertilizer and pesticide applications; man-hours worked; etc.
  • Assist in the daily irrigation scheduling. 
  • Keep abreast of current innovations in turf grass management.
  • Project a professional image always. 
  •          Perform any other duty deemed reasonable by their supervisor or management.  
Experience/Education/Certification Requirements:
  • High school education or its equivalent.
  • Must have state GCSA status and state pesticide applicator’s license.
  • Experience operating golf course maintenance equipment.
  • Must have valid driver’s license.
  • Must have experience working on a computer with Microsoft Office products (Outlook; Excel; Word)
Physical Requirements:
  • Must be able to lift to 40 lbs. to waist height.
  • Frequent bending turning, kneeling and stooping
  • Exposure to hot and cold temperatures
  • Must be able to stand for extended periods.
  • Some repetitive motion required for computer entry.
  • Must be able to operate a motorized vehicle, including golf cart, in a safe manner
  • Must be able to fluently speak and write the English language.
  • We are a drug free workplace.
 
This is a full time permanent position with medical, dental, 401K, paid vacation, golf privileges, and paid uniforms.  Salary depends on experience.

Golf Irrigation Specialist

Overview

The Irrigation Specialist, under the supervision of the Superintendent or Assistant Superintendent, is responsible for, but not limited to, the operation and maintenance of the golf course and community irrigation systems. The Irrigation Specialist is required to report any irregularities in course turf quality and plant quality to the superintendent or assistant superintendent.

Functions

  • Hand waters greens and tees in dry areas needing additional water.
  • Operates irrigation heads in fairways and rough in dry areas needing additional water.
  • Operates irrigation sprinklers in community areas needing additional water
  • Performs irrigation checks on a regular basis
  • Repairs the irrigation system, pipes and irrigation heads as needed.
  • Completes requests for irrigation and course parts and supplies.
  • Grades and prepares soil base; lays sod; and seeds greens, tees and fairways.
  • Operates dump trucks and other light equipment in hauling materials and removing debris.
  • Occasionally supervises a small labor force for special projects, and performs other duties as directed by supervisor.

Employment standards

  • Working knowledge of basic electricity and hydraulics related to an irrigation system, including automatic valves and controllers, and working knowledge of various types of pumps and pumping systems.
  • Understanding of agronomy, turf grass science and the rules of golf.
  • Knowledge of tools, methods and materials used in grounds and landscape area maintenance work.
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license, and be able to operate light motorized equipment.
  • Presents a professional image at all times.
  • Ability to lift at least 50ibs
  • Possession of a valid driver's license.

 This is a full time permanent position with medical, dental, 401K, paid vacation, golf privileges, and paid uniforms.  $14 - $17 per hour, DOE.



Servers

Overview
We are looking for energetic, outgoing, dependable, honest individuals for morning, afternoon, dinner, and evening shifts available for our restaurant, banquets, private parties, and tournaments.  We offer excellent pay, benefits, employee discounts, and golf privelges.  Seasonal part-time and full-time positions available.

Clubhouse Staff

Overview
We are looking for part time and full time Porters.

Line Cook

Overview
Heritage Eagle Bend’s Eagles Nest Restaurant is looking for an experienced line cook. Are you sick of working late? We are looking for a full-time Line Cook to work 11am-8pm. Benefits, paid vacation, paid holidays and 401k.

The ideal candidate we are looking for:

  • Has strong knife skills and strong sauté skills
  • Ability to cook proteins to correct temperature’s without needing to use a thermometer
  • Knowledge of Pakistani, Indian, Afghani, and Moroccan food a plus (not a requirement) 
  • Must be able to multi-task
  • Must have a good understanding of health code procedures
  • Someone who is creative
  • Must be self-motivated and a clean worker
  • Willing to work holidays and weekends

Greens Keepers - Landscapers

Overview
The Greens Keepers/Landscapers, under supervision of the Golf Course Superintendent and Assistant Superintendent, performs work involving, but not limited to, the use of small and large landscape equipment and hand tools used to maintain a beautiful and sustainable golf course and landscapes.

Functions

  • Maintain and mow all types of turf and plant areas.
  • Operates all types of equipment; walk mowers, blowers, trimmers, aerifiers, etc.
  • Rakes and blows leaves, walkways, parking lots, cart storage areas, driveways, etc.
  • Performs basic labor on the golf course and landscapes.
  • Ensures that the equipment cooling system is working at all times; refills fuel and oil daily; and reports equipment problems or failures to Equipment Manager immediately.
  • Cleans any/all equipment used on the golf course grounds.
  • Provides basic preventive maintenance on equipment as directed by the Equipment Manager or Assistant Superintendent, and returns equipment to the designated location at the maintenance facility.
  • Cooperate with, and respect fellow employees.
